Rand Park High School traditionally serves a community that feeds the various tertiary institutions in Johannesburg.

The school has produced outstanding results during its relatively short history. To complement the economic, natural and human sciences, languages and technology subjects offered to learners, the school offers a broad life-skills programme to ensure that the needs of the whole child are met.

17 subjects are offered including English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Physical Science, Life Sciences, History, Geography, Life Orientation, Accounting, Business Studies, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies, Information Technology, Computer Application Technology, Visual Art and Physical Education.

The IEB Further Studies Mathematics and English are also offered to learners who wish to study these subjects in greater depth and improve their critical thinking and skills.
