Rand Park High School traditionally serves a community that feeds the various tertiary institutions in Johannesburg.
The school has produced outstanding results during its relatively short history. Each year, several learners obtain multiple distinctions and go on to excel at university. An excellent matric pass rate is achieved each year as a result of the commitment of staff and learners which enhances the school’s proud academic reputation.
2017’s DUX Scholar is Jordan Macfie who achieved outstanding results in the Matric Final National Senior Certificate Examinations and is the top achiever for the Class of 2017. He received the DUX Scholar Award at this year’s Matric Valediction. Jordan achieved 8 distinctions with 100% for Mathematics and 98% for Advanced Programme Mathematics. Vanshikha Taparia also achieved 8 distinctions.
202 distinctions were achieved by the Class of 2017 and a pass rate of 99.6% overall.

17 subjects are offered including English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Physical Science, Life Sciences, History, Geography, Life Orientation, Accounting, Business Studies, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies, Information Technology, Computer Application Technology, Visual Art and Physical Education.
Advanced Programme Mathematics and English are also offered to learners who wish to study these subjects in greater depth and improve their critical thinking and skills.

To complement the economic, natural and human sciences, languages and technology subjects offered to learners, the school offers a broad life-skills programme to ensure that the needs of the whole child are met.
